On Sunday 29th of June the BattleTech Thug Life Forever Discord server hosted the BattleTech World Wide Event 2020 And hell followed with him using MegaMek.
We filled up to capacity with 17 players in total.
12 Players were on the Draconis Combine Mustered Society 2nd Arkab Legion (6 in each Company).
5 Players were in the Clan Smoke Jaguar Strike Cluster (2 Stars of OmniMechs and a Star of Elementals).
The battle was epic, partly due to the very interesting map setup!
Clan Smoke Jaguar came out on top with 22 points to 13 for the Arhab. In terms of units lost the Clans lost 3 Omni-Mechs to the 7 InnerSphere Mechs.
Below are two short in character reports from two of our players.
“Star Captain Donald Wimmer surveyed the battlefield from his perch up along the valley wall and allowed the corner of his mouth to raise up in a tight smirk. The Arkab Legion was pulling back, withdrawing in the face of the raw ferocity his Trothkin had just unleashed upon them. Two of their supply depots were already little more than smoldering ruins and it was only a matter of time before they would divine the location of the rest. The enemy had had no time to recover any of the resources within and as such their hopes of holding Hyner were no more. Loremaster Hoyt had been correct in his assessment, while it is always a Jaguar’s desire to feast upon the lifeblood of their prey, there is a time and a place for such things. Osis on the other hand is a fool, we will not succeed in claiming our rightful place as the ilClan if we do not possess leaders with… vision. Perhaps it would be best if Hoyt were to be named Khan… Turning his Dire Wolf about and beginning his descent into the valley to rejoin his warriors he found that, in spite of the victory they had won here this day, that he could not shake a sense of dread of what was to come.”

“Tai-i Koryusai Benis of Second Arkab Legion, Niphates Company chose to regroup with our sister company the Crescent Company commanded by Tai-sa Basis Okima to resupply and get additional fire support. The Clanners were devious, instead of chasing us they came from the opposite direction we did, which caught our brethren in the middle. Crescent Company valiantly turned towards the honorless Jaguars and fought with honor to put down those retched cats. The Star Captain Donald Wimmer was a coward and stood like a stone statue to the South West of us and just fired and fired. He tried to strike me down but was unable to. The other Star Commander Omar Ismiril was fast like a devil and was almost impossible to hit but before we retreated, we were able to bloody him. In the end we fought to a tactical retreat with the supplies we were able to recover from the supply depot. We live to fight another day to punish these Smoke Jaguars.”
